overview of education modules
Participants at the workshops develop teaching modules to use Next-Gen sequencing datasets in a variety of different types of undergraduate courses. They present their ideas to the other participants on the last day of the workshop. The written descriptions of the modules undergo a peer review by other participants. The modules are presented here. In 2013, students described their teaching strategy using powerpoint presentations. Starting in 2014 and continuing through the rest of the workshops, we have used the CourseSource Lesson Template for these education modules.
The modules are listed by the type of data set used:
Eukaryotic Genomic (sequence of small eukaryotic genomes)
Prokaryotic Genomic (sequence of bacterial genome)
RNA SEQ (sequence of all of the RNA molecules in a sample)
Metagenomics (sequence of 16S/18S regions all of the genomes of bacteria/fungi in a sample)
